Speaking with The Wrap, the producer said Robbie’s “still involved” in Pirates of the Caribbean 6. He continued: “We’re working on a script. If we don’t have it on the page, it’s not gonna get on the screen… We had two scripts at one point, and then one kind of dropped out and we kind of went with the other one. She’s still involved.”
Of all the franchises he oversees, Bruckheimer confessed Pirates was the most difficult to keep going: “The hardest one has been Pirates so far. It has been eight years since the series’ last instalment, 2017’s Dead Men Tell No Tales [Salazar’s Revenge in the UK] hit theaters. “That world is so cool and specific. You just gotta find the right way in.”
Meanwhile, Orlando Bloom is keen to “get the band back together”, but Keira Knightley had a different response.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, the Elizabeth Swann actress said: “There haven’t been any conversations. No, no. My character? In Pirates? What happened to her? I don’t really remember what happened to her. So, I’m not quite sure where she should go afterwards. She should be a pirate, right?”
Fingers crossed there’ll be a big screen reunion for Jack, Will and Elizabeth.
