The opportunity to start 2-0 came and went for the Jets Sunday against the Packers, now they shift their focus to another NFC North squad that is all-too familiar with Aaron Glenn.
Gang Green will travel down to Detroit, where they’re installed as 6.5-point underdogs on the spread for Week 3 against the Lions on DraftKings Sportsbook.
This is a big change off the lookahead line last week, where the Jets were initially +9.5 against the Lions but the strong early returns for Gang Green have forced a legitimate movement inside the seven-point key number.
The upcoming clash serves as a homecoming for Glenn, whose defense faces the daunting task of slowing down two of the league’s best offensively skilled players, Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Gang Green had Jordan Love and Green Bay right where they wanted them.
When Jason Sanders drilled a 32-yard field goal to extend Gang Green’s cushion to 17-7 with just over 11 minutes remaining, victory seemed all but assured.
But the wheels fell off once again as Jordan Love tuned up a seven play, 73 yard scoring drive capped by a Christian Watson three-yard touchdown catch in response.

Green Bay’s drive picked up steam, and Jarvis Brownlee’s costly unnecessary roughness penalty sealed the deal for Matt LaFleur and the Packers as Smack nailed a 26-yard field goal, giving Green Bay a 20-17 win in extra time.
Although the vibes are sour for now, the Lions are also coming off a loss and have notable injury concerns in their secondary.
Following a brutal Week 2 defeat where Josh Allen and the Bills racked up 41 points, 446 total yards, and 34 first downs against a defense that managed to force only two punts, Avonte Maddox has been ruled out for the remainder of the year.
Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell are likely to see more usage in the Jets’ passing game, but the key issue is whether the Jets’ defense can effectively stop Jared Goff and Detroit’s ability to create splash plays.

Glenn often pressures the quarterback heavily, but with Gibbs emerging from the backfield, the Jets will face a tough challenge.
