Jet2 makes check-in change for passengers flying from these UK airport | Travel News | Travel

Jet2 has made a change to its check-in service to allow passengers to check-in for flights and drop off their bags the day before.

The budget airline offers a twilight check-in service at 11 airports across the UK so that passengers can save valuable time on the day of their departure and head straight to security, without having to stand in long check-in queues. Normally, passengers must go to the airport at least two hours before their flight is due to depart and must queue at check-in desks on arrival to get their boarding passes and drop off their luggage, but this process can now be done the night before to make the morning a little bit easier.

But Jet2 only offers the service at select UK airports and it is limited to passengers who have flights departing before midday. So if you have a morning flight booked, and the airport you’re flying from runs the twilight service, you can drop off your suitcases between 4.30pm and 9pm the evening before.

As such, passengers get to bypass airport check-in on the day of departure and head straight for security when they get to the airport the following day.

Jet2 provides the service at the following 11 airports across the UK, seven days a week:

  • Birmingham
  • Bristol
  • East Midlands
  • Edinburgh
  • Glasgow International
  • Leeds Bradford
  • Liverpool
  • London Luton
  • London Stansted
  • Manchester
  • Newcastle

Passengers must check-in online any time from 28 days and no later than 24 hours before their flight via the Jet2 website or the app.

One person in a party can drop off up to six people’s bags, but passengers will need to take along their boarding passes and passports to the twilight check-in.

Some UK airports offer free, limited-time parking for customers while using twilight check-in so you won’t have to incur any additional costs to use the service.

Jet2 said: “Flying before midday and already checked-in online? Great news! You can use our terrific Twilight Check-in service! Your morning flight is about to get a whole lot easier…

“With our free Twilight Check-in service, you can drop your bags off at your UK departure airport between 16:30 and 21:00 the evening before your morning flight.

“Thanks to Twilight Check-in, when you arrive at departures the next day, your luggage is already sorted. If you live near the airport or are staying at a hotel close by, it’ll make your morning a little bit easier.

“Remember, to use Twilight Check-in, you must check in online any time from 28 days and no later than 24 hours before your flight, via our website or app.”
