Jet2 flight forced to turn back to base after smoke seen in cabin sparks concern


A plane had to do a u-turn back to Glasgow Airport after smoke was discovered in the cabin.

Jet2 flight LS161, which took off this morning bound for Geneva, Switzerland, was turned around just north of Dumfries and returned to Glasgow.

The airline has since confirmed that the smoke was caused by catering equipment.

All of the passengers are due to board a replacement plane and flown to Geneva.
