Jelly Belly has announced sweeping layoffs in California after shutting down a major corporate and commercial operation in the state.
Ferrara Candy Company, its Chicago-based owner, revealed on Wednesday 69 workers will be axed at the headquarters in Fairfield, near San Francisco, in June.

It will impact administrative roles including web developers, accountants, customer service staff and e-commerce teams, according to a letter sent to local city officials.
Jelly Belly will still remain in business and the Fairfield manufacturing, warehousing and visitor center roles will not be hit.
There will still be 305 employees at the site. Those let go will have the chance to relocate to other Ferrara-run facilities.
