Jayden Daniels is going to travel with the Commanders to London ahead of their Week 4 game against the Colts and will practice this week as he returns from an elbow injury.
The thought that Daniels could be back for the game on Sunday is a bit far-fetched, but the latest revelations are good news for Washington, which has started the 2026 season 1-2.
Commanders coach Dan Quinn was asked if Daniels had already been in his ear about getting into the game on Sunday.
“That would be him, for sure, yes. But to his credit, he’s been absolutely putting in the work,” Quinn said during his virtual press conference. “I am excited to get him back out on the practice field.”
Daniels suffered the elbow injury during the Commanders’ Week 2 loss to the Cowboys when his left arm bent awkwardly during a play late in the first half.
He had to be carted off the field before returning to the sideline and missing Week 3 against the Seahawks.
When asked what gave Quinn confidence that Daniels will be back sooner this time around than when he had previously dealt with a dislocation in his elbow, the Commanders coach said it was from “hearing from the medical team where it’s at and how it’s doing.”
“We’re just following the guidelines for him going through the process of him getting opinions from New York and L.A. sets the plan in motion,” Quinn said. “We’ll stick to that.”
Through parts of two games this season, Daniels has completed 29 of 51 pass attempts for 260 yards and three touchdowns. Daniels has not thrown an interception yet this season.
He’s also rushed for 100 yards this season.
The Commanders depart Tuesday for London, where they’ll face the Colts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
