Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart is undergoing his knee surgery today, as first reported by The Post through league sources.
Dart is attacking the rehab after the scheduled repair of damage to the MCL, PCL and meniscus in his left knee the way that Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes attacked his ACL last year.
Dart’s recovery is expected to be four to six months, and head coach John Harbaugh has not ruled out his starting quarterback returning for the playoffs.
Giants offensive coordinator Matt Nagy coached Mahomes last year in Kansas City and mentioned Thursday that Dart has a similar mindset about returning as strong as ever.
Mahomes looks like his vintage MVP self to start 2026 for the 2-0 Chiefs.
“I went through it last year with the quarterback I was with, and you got to see how he attacked that from the very next day, and that’s what Jaxson’s going to do,” Nagy said after Thursday’s practice. “I mean, I just saw him over there, and he kind of mentioned he’s ready to go right now. He’s kidding. He wants to be out there.
“But it’s just who he is. It’s a part of his journey. This will make him stronger, and we’ve just got to be there for him, and we’ve got to understand that what he did up until this point has been good. So now, when he does get back, whenever that is, it’s going to be a beautiful thing.”
