Sancho enjoyed a productive spell back at Dortmund in 2024, rejoining the club on loan from United and playing a key role in their run to the Champions League final.
Former England and Liverpool forward Emile Heskey believes Sancho ought to contemplate making the same move once more if he is serious about reviving his career.
Sancho’s United contract expires in June, at which point he will depart Old Trafford as a free agent.
Speaking to 10bet, Heskey said: “Jadon has a great rapport with Dortmund in the Bundesliga, so that is an avenue he could go down.
“When he went back on loan there, he was in the Champions League final. So it’s possible, and you would think he could always go back there, especially on a free transfer.”
Sancho has also attracted interest from several Italian clubs, though Heskey has cautioned the winger that his mentality would need to be spot on should he opt for Serie A.
He further commented: “I’m guessing Italy might work for him, but the only thing there is you have to make sure your mindset is right, that you’re ready to work hard.
“It’s no joke there. It might be a rude awakening for him in Serie A. It might be what it takes to get him to knuckle down, to get back to his best.”
Sancho remains tied down at United until the end of the season, at which point he could leave on a free transfer. However, the Red Devils may decide to trigger a one-year extension in the hope of landing a fee.
