Jack O’Connell is the latest actor to be quizzed by film social media platform Letterboxd. The actor was appearing on the red carpet at the BAFTA awards when he was asked to name his top four favourite films of all time.

O’Connell said: “Four favourites? Bloody Hell. So on the spot here Letterboxd.”

However, the 28 Years Later actor, who got his start in the industry with Skins, quickly gathered his top four and listed them rapidly. Here are O’Connell’s top four films.

The Wind That Shakes the Barley

The film’s synopsis reads: “In 1920s Ireland young doctor Damien O’Donovan (Cillian Murphy) prepares to depart for a new job in a London hospital. As he says his goodbyes at a friend’s farm, British Black and Tans arrive, and a young man is killed. Damien joins his brother Teddy (Padraic Delaney) in the Irish Republican Army, but political events are soon set in motion that tear the brothers apart.”

Anora

Anora’s synopsis reads: “Sean Baker’s Palme d’Or winner ANORA is an audacious, thrilling, and comedic variation on a modern-day Cinderella story. Mikey Madison (ONCE UPON A TIME IN HOLLYWOOD) captivates as Ani, a young sex worker from Brooklyn whose life takes an unexpected turn when she meets and impulsively marries Vanya, the impetuous son of a Russian billionaire. However, when Vanya’s parents catch wind of the union, they send their henchmen to annul the marriage, setting off a wild chase through the streets of New York.”

On the Academy Award-winning film, O’Connell said: “I love Anora this year. So that’s up there.”

Titanic

The film’s synopsis reads: “Titanic, a 1997 epic romantic drama directed by James Cameron, tells the story of a forbidden love between Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a poor artist, and Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet), a young woman of wealth and privilege, aboard the ill-fated maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic. The film also features a strong supporting cast, including Billy Zane as Rose’s arrogant fiancé, Cal Hockley, Kathy Bates as the outspoken Molly Brown, and Frances Fisher as Rose’s controlling mother, Ruth DeWitt Bukater.”

Gladiator

Gladiator’s synopsis reads: “Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) takes power and strips rank from Maximus (Russell Crowe), one of the favored generals of his predecessor and father, Emperor Marcus Aurelius, the great stoical philosopher. Maximus is then relegated to fighting to the death in the gladiator arenas.”
