The late Princess Diana had a number of close confidantes in her life, with the most well-known being her oldest son Prince William and her royal butler Paul Burrell. However, not everyone knows that the princess, who died in 1997 in a tragic Paris car crash, also confided a lot in her personal trainer.
From 1991 until her death, Diana used personal trainer Jenni Rivett, now 65, for help with her workouts. It is believed they shared a close relationship, with Jenni telling the Mail Online that she has kept her friendship with Diana, and the things they spoke about, mainly a secret until now.
As well as knowing how much Diana loved both her sons William and Harry, Jenni also said that the princess would ask her for advice and would want to confide in her with personal secrets.
Jenni said: “I would give her the very best advice I could, yet I’d pinch myself – here I am, consultant to the Royal Family!
“But saying that, I knew my place. I never brought up subjects myself, I never overstepped the line, and I think she appreciated that.
“Sometimes Diana would tell me things so personal I would ask her: ‘Please don’t say any more because if it ends up in the papers tomorrow, you will think it was me.’”
Jenni also told MailOnline that Diana would be “devastated” that Harry and William are currently not on good terms – a situation which seems to have got worse since Harry released his memoir Spare in 2023.
She said: “Diana loved her boys; they were everything to her. She would have been devastated at what is going on between them today.”
It is believed that Jenni worked three hours a week with Diana to help her stay fit and healthy.
It is not known where the fitness sessions were held.
