I’ve been to 106 countries but there’s 1 I love the most | Europe | Travel

A passionate globetrotter, who has explored 106 out of the 195 countries worldwide, has shared his top European destination. Shueyb Gandapur, currently residing in Dubai, spent a decade in the UK after journeying from Pakistan to initially settle in Aberdeen, Scotland for two years, before relocating to London.

While residing in Britain and working in the financial sector, Shueyb managed to secure citizenship and obtain a British passport, which he claimed unlocked “way more doors” and provided him with greater travel opportunities compared to his Pakistani passport. Despite enjoying every nation he’s visited and harbouring affection for the entire continent, Shueyb revealed the top European destination he would advise anyone to experience. He said: “Croatia is very, very beautiful with lots of beautiful beaches and towns.

“I really love Croatia. It is my favourite European country. I kept finding town after town or city after city and thinking ‘wow this is even better or equal to the previous one’ – the surprises kept continuing.”

Croatia boasts an extensive coastline along the Adriatic Sea, featuring forested islands, cascading waterfalls, and pristine national parks.

The nation is also celebrated for its rich heritage, with numerous ancient ruins, fortifications, and structures recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Zagreb serves as the capital and largest city of Croatia, situated in the country’s northwest, alongside the Sava river, beneath the slopes of Medvednica mountain. Shueyb expressed his belief that the UK is “one of the prettiest countries in the world”.

He said: “When I was in England, I kept thinking about wanting to travel and see other countries and cultures, but now I’m in Dubai, I find myself thinking about England a lot.”

The globe-trotter revealed that while he relishes his new life in Dubai – having relocated there just a year ago – he often longs for the UK’s splendid outdoors.

He stated that the greenery in Dubai “doesn’t come close to England’s” as it is “mostly all desert” and frequently he misses being in nature.
