ITV star forced to make urgent correction after X-rated mistake

An ITV news anchor had to quickly correct herself live on air after she made an unfortunate four-letter gaffe saying the Chancellor’s surname.

Broadcaster Nadia Hossain was speaking to a correspondent who was out in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, when she mispronounced Jeremy Hunt’s last name.

During the segment today (Thurs) she said “You spoke to Mr C***”, before quickly correcting herself and saying “Mr Hunt, how did he respond to calls for her to resign?”

Viewers have since taken to X, formerly known as Twitter after catching the blunder live on air. It’s not the first time broadcasters have made an X-rated blunder with the politician’s name.

In June 2018 on BBC Radio 4’s Today, presenter Justin Webb also made the four-letter mistake when reading the Chancellor’s name from a newspaper article.
