Israel-Hamas latest: Sick hackers ambush cinemagoers with October 7 massacre footage

A group of sick hackers ambushed cinemagoers with footage of Hamas terrorists’ October 7 attacks on Israel. People attending the Lev Cinema chain in Tel Aviv, Israel were subjected to the footage on Tuesday.

While the messages and footage projected has since been taken down local police say they are now investigating the incident. According to Ynet News, the hackers were originally from Turkey and broke into the advertising screens of the popular cinema chain.

Messages in Hebrew were subsequently placed alongside footage of the October 7 terror attacks by Hamas during which more than 1,000 people were killed and several were kidnapped.

According to reports, the disgusting hacker’s message read: “Stupid Jews, you are all terrorist killers. You are cowards. You will take responsibility for the hundreds of innocent children who died in Gaza.

“We will not give you peace, even in your movie theatres, until your massacres are over. We will destroy you all. We will limit your access to the internet and banking services. God is with us.”

Following the incident, Lev said the screens were turned off immediately and they had begun an internal investigation into how they were hacked and who was behind them. In a statement to Ynet Guy Shani, CEO of Lev Cinemas, said: “This is a tiny incident that has grown out of proportion.

“There is an external system that updates our screens and trailers. The hackers got into this system, and put up their messages – and within a few minutes we got on it, took it down, and the event was over.”

The incident comes as Israel’s war with Hamas intensifies and calls for the war to end grow louder. On Tuesday afternoon, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak became the latest politician to call for an end to the fighting.

He said: “Israel cannot announce victory without destroying the military and the governing capabilities of Hamas. But for Hamas to win it just needs to survive. And even if Israel kills Sinwar [Yahya Sinwar, the Hamas leader], they will still survive. The only way [out of the conflict] is to have an election straight away.”
