Users have reported issues accessing Facebook and Instagram, prompting concerns Meta may have been hacked. Hundreds of thousands of users have reported issues since shortly before 10am ET on Downdetector.
Maps show the huge extent of the outage, which has swept the globe, including the whole of the US and the UK.

Facebook is down, and it is being reported globally. Also down are Messenger, Instagram, Threads, and Workplace.
Commenters stated: “All Meta is down. No cross-app functions available.”
“Can’t login” another simply said.
“Can’t login, says the password is wrong and I can’t even reset it,” one said.
Another wrote: “Down in North Carolina. Thought I was hacked at first.”
