Iran has unveiled a massive banner in its capital Tehran depicting Donald Trump behind bars, with the words “We will kill Trump”. The display towers over the Iranian capital’s busy Enghelab Square and shows Mr Trump behind prison bars with his head bowed. The words “We will kill Trump” are written across the billboard, which was unveiled on Tuesday as Iran stepped up its public campaign against the US President.

Another display nearby shows Mr Trump alongside US Vice President JD Vance, special envoy Steve Witkoff and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The four men are depicted with bloodied faces and damaged clothing against a background of torn US and Israeli flags.

Dozens of people gathered in Enghelab Square carrying red flags and calling for revenge for Iran’s former supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Khamenei was killed in US-Israeli strikes on February 28 at the beginning of the current conflict.

The latest displays come as diplomatic efforts continue in an attempt to bring Washington and Tehran to negotiations and prevent renewed fighting. Mr Trump has suggested an agreement with Iran remains possible, saying a deal “could happen”.

The threatening billboard is not the only anti-Trump display to have appeared in the Iranian capital.

An open-air exhibition in Tajrish Square in northern Tehran features several images targeting the US President.

One depicts Mr Trump lying on the ground with his face bloodied as a foot presses down on his head.

Another shows a bomb covering his face in an apparent reference to Belgian artist René Magritte’s famous painting The Son of Man.

A life-size mock prison cell has also been installed in the square, with an actor impersonating Mr Trump spending time behind its bars.

The actor wears a dark suit and red tie along with a mask designed to resemble the US President. A screen next to the installation shows images of damage caused by US strikes on Iran.

Tehran’s municipal authorities, which are behind the prison campaign, have said it is intended to highlight Iranian demands for justice.

Iran has accused the US of deliberately attacking civilian sites during the conflict, including a school and a wedding ceremony, and killing civilians.

Anti-American billboards and murals have long been displayed in Iran, with political artwork becoming a prominent feature of public spaces following the country’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.
