The Sims is facing major competition for the first time in years, as a new release aims to take its place on consoles and PC.
Published by Korean company Krafton, InZOI is a new game that enters early access on March 28. Similar to The Sims, InZOI is a life sim in which players must fulfil the needs of its the game’s inhabitants, all the while building a home and customising their characters and environments.
Players can get a taste of the game ahead of launch by downloading the Creative Suite, which lets users create their own character (Zoi) and build a home. The InZOI Creative Suite has a March 20 release date and a midnight launch time for fans living in the UK.
Available exclusively for Steam (PS5 and Xbox releases will follow at a later date), the Creative Suite can initially only be downloaded by fans who have received an invite. The Creative Suite will be available in full on March 23.
In order to receive an early access key to the Creative Suite, fans must watch streams on platforms such as Twitch, Chzzk, Steam and SOOP. Just make sure you have a Krafton account associated with the platform and check your messages for drops.
“From the following inZOI store page, if you watch an inZOI stream for over 30 minutes,” reads a Steam post. “You can acquire the key.”
It looks like there’s a limit on the number of keys available, so you may want to watch a stream sooner rather than later.
Krafton explains more: “After the Drops period ends, from March 23, 00:00 UTC to March 27, 23:59 UTC, inZOI: Creative Studio will be accessible to everyone without any restrictions, so don’t miss this period either!”
The game then enters early access on March 28, although the price of InZOI is yet to be revealed.
InZOI will enter early access with three open-world environments to explore and customise. Presumably more will be added during the early access period.
Success in the game seemingly revolves around meeting the needs of your characters, including hunger, hygiene, bathroom, fun, social, energy, sleep, and recognition.
Players can also fully build and customise their environments, which includes creating your own furniture.
Likewise, there’s a career element for your characters, which revolves around performing tasks in various roles.
Krafton explains more: “InZOI is a life simulation game where the player can alter any aspect of their world to create unique stories and experiences.
“Just like in the real world, you can find jobs to make a living while forming deep relationships through interactions.
“With a complete community simulation of every character acting on their free will, you can experience unexpected events to feel the various emotions life has to offer.”
