Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s new tactic “changes everything” about their royal future, insiders have claimed. Harry, 41, made a solo return to the UK last month, a visit that also saw him reunite with King Charles for the first time in 19 months.
Meghan, 44, also travelled to Europe for a surprise appearance at Paris Fashion Week on October 4. Her visit, which saw her attendance, marked her first trip to Europe since 2023.
Discussing the Sussexes’ separate trips, insiders have shared their thoughts on what the visits mean for the couple’s future, who stepped down as senior working royals and eventually moved to the US. The trips have reportedly made insiders feel “uneasy”, according to sources.
A former royal courtier recently told the Daily Beast: “If they really plan to spend more time here, it changes everything.
“It puts them back in the frame, and that’s not what anyone expected.”
Although Harry has made various visits to the UK since 2020, many for work commitments, Meghan has reportedly previously vowed to never “set foot in the UK again”.
Seemingly sticking to her word so far, Meghan has not visited the UK since September 2022, a visit that saw them extend their trip to attend the late Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
Prior to Paris, Meghan has travelled to other parts of Europe. Her last visit was to Düsseldorf in Germany for the 2023 Invictus Games.
Although Meghan’s trip to the French capital last week saw her step out in support of the newly-appointed Balenciaga designer, Pier Paolo Piccioli, the visit didn’t come without a bit of controversy for the royal.
Taking to her Instagram story, Meghan was slammed for sharing a video close to the tunnel where the late Princess Diana died in a car crash in 1997. Due to the nature of past events, the video had been deemed “insensitive”.
