Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s lucrative £78million [$100m] deal with Netflix won’t be renewed, it has been confirmed. The couple signed a five-year deal with the popular streaming service in 2020, just months after announcing that they would be stepping down as senior working royals.
The deal is set to come to an end in September, The Sun has reported. Speaking about the deal, a source told the publication: “There’s no animosity from either side. Things have just run their course.”
Despite the end of the contract, the second series of With Love, Meghan, will go ahead as planned this autumn.
According to Netflix’s latest Engagement Report, which was released on July 17 and covered the first half of 2025, showed that Meghan’s series – which aired back in March – ranked at No. 383 with 5.3 million views.
Polo, Harry’s series which was released in December 2024, was watched by 500,000 households and came in at No. 3,436.
Harry & Meghan, which aired in December 2022, remains Netflix’s most-watched documentary debut to date.
Discussing the joint series, the source added: “Netflix were clever in that they got a hell of a lot of viewers for the first documentary series, and knew, realistically, it would prove the zenith of content from the Montecito pair.
“They’re not unhappy with how things turned out — they got those initial hits, and produced one of the most talked-about shows of all time.”
Just one week after its release, With Love, Meghan ranked tenth on Netflix’s global Top 10 Shows Overview list. The series, which included eight episodes, amassed 2.6 million views and 12.6 million hours watched.
At the time, it also ranked seventh on Netflix’s Top 10 Shows chart in the United Kingdom and tenth on the platform’s Top 10 list in the US.
