Prince Harry was praised for his “comedic chops” behind the scenes after a video of him getting a “tattoo” was released this week ahead of the Invictus Games in 2025.
The Duke of Sussex took part in a sketch in which he appeared to be given a tattoo by US music star Jelly Roll as part of the build-up to the Invictus Games in Canada, which will take place in February.
In the video, filmed at New York tattoo parlour East Side Ink, the country singer and rapper joked with Harry and agreed that if he gave him his “tattoo”, he would perform at the Invictus Games closing ceremony.
Harry was spotted at the tattoo parlour back in September, raising speculation about the reason behind his visit, which has now been revealed.
Now, the owner of the tattoo parlour, Josh Lord, has opened up about what the prince was like behind the scenes while filming the sketch.
He told People magazine: “Absolutely, the person who was unexpectedly the funniest was Harry.
“Here we are, a room full of people who have seen some things, but Harry was probably the bravest and funniest of all of us, really.
“Behind the scenes, he’s got comedic chops that I didn’t expect.”
“He’s a very laid-back, normal guy if you let him be.
“I can’t imagine the world that he grew up in and how difficult it must have been, but he’s managed to maintain a level of humanity and kindness in everything he does, which is remarkable.”
Harry, who is a former British Army captain, launched the Invictus Games in 2014 as an international sports tournament for injured and wounded service personnel and returned veterans.
The 2025 games will feature the debut of winter sports, including Nordic Skiing, wheelchair curling, snowboarding and alpine skiing.
