Inside Princess Kate’s close circle and how they will support her through cancer diagnosis

Princess Kate has a close circle of family, friends and royal aides to support her following her announcement that she has cancer and is undergoing treatment.

The Princess of Wales revealed yesterday that she had been diagnosed with cancer. She is due to start preventative chemotherapy soon.

The Princess’ parents Michael and Carole Middleton, as well as her siblings Pippa Matthews and James Middleton, all live minutes away from Windsor so can be on hand when Kate is in town, meaning she has a strong support network guaranteed.

Ingrid Seward, Editor-in-Chief of Majesty Magazine, told Hello! magazine: “The Middletons are a really close family and Carole is a very hands-on grandmother, and I’m sure she will be at the helm.

“She often picks the kids up. Pippa has children of her own now, but I’m sure she will help by offering to have the kids round for tea and that kind of thing.”

James Middleton shared a childhood photo of himself and Kate as children enjoying a sunny walk in nature.

He captioned the Instagram post: “Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too.”

He also commented a single heart emoji on Kate’s announcement video, which was posted on the Prince and Princess of Wales’ official Instagram page.

Many others have also issued words of support to the princess, including her father-in-law King Charles, who said he is “so proud” of his “beloved” daughter-in-law’s courage.

Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo will also be keen to support the family as nanny to George, Charlotte and Louis. She is believed to work with them full-time.

It is understood the video was released on the day William and Kate’s three children began their Easter school holidays, to take advantage of the break to shield them from coverage of their mother’s health.

Natasha Archer, the Princess’ advisor on style since 2007, and Natalie Barrows, Kate’s assistant private secretary since 2017, are also likely on hand to help her during this time.
