Inside Meghan Markle’s one-word reply to Prince William’s opinion on Oprah Winfrey chat

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been shedding light on the ongoings inside the royal family for years now, with their whistleblowing starting in early 2021 during their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The couple had immigrated to Los Angeles the year before after stepping back from the royal family, which in itself caused a frenzy at the time.

Since then, the Sussexes have gone into detail about their experiences among the Windsor family in both Prince Harry’s record-breaking memoir Spare and the couple’s Netflix series Meghan and Harry.

Very little reaction to the bombshells has come out of Buckingham Palace, but Meghan shared her real-time reaction to her brother-in-law’s response.

Their six-episode series caught the very moment Prince Harry received a message from Prince William and barged into his wife’s on-camera interview to show her.

Glancing over the message, the mother-of-two simply replied: “Wow.”

The Duchess was in the midst of talking to her Hollywood pal Tyler Perry and had to excuse herself, telling the filmmaker: “H just got a text from his brother”.

While most of the Sussexes’ claims have been against the monarchy as a whole, rarely identifying specific individuals, Harry has opened up on his childhood in both the series and the memoir as he recalled some “terrifying” moments with his older brother.

He said on the Netflix show that he was called in to speak to Prince William and King Charles when he and Meghan revealed they were stepping down from their royal duties, but the 39-year-old claimed it wasn’t much of a conversation.

He recalled: “It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that simply weren’t true.”

During the bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey, fans were confronted with many of the couple’s claims for the first time, including allegations of racism in the royal family with the now notorious alleged conversation about Prince Archie’s skin colour.

Omid Scobie’s latest book, Endgame, took a deeper look into these claims and sparked a riotous response online when a mistranslation in the Dutch edition revealed the specific senior royal family members accused of starting the debate.
