Set in New York City, Al Pacino stars as a Puerto Rican ex–drug lord freshly released from prison after a five‑year sentence, who is determined to build a new life away from crime. Though his character, Carlito Brigante, is focused on change, corrupt and criminal forces from his past continuously test his commitment to a straight path.
