I’m an ex-Royal Marine – these are real reasons Palestine Action RAF attack matters | UK | News

Hostility against Britain doesn’t always come waving a foreign flag — it now rides in on electric scooters and calls itself activism. There are no grey areas when it comes to national security. You are either for the safety of the United Kingdom, or you are against it. Last week, the Palestine Action group chose their side — against Britain. They didn’t just shout slogans or wave placards.

No, they broke into RAF Brize Norton and vandalised two of our military aircraft — critical assets used for global operations and the defence of our nation. This was a disgraceful betrayal that directly undermines our operational effectiveness at a time when the world is aflame with conflict.

Having passed through RAF Brize Norton myself as a Royal Marine Commando on deployment to Afghanistan, I know first-hand the vital role this base plays.

For those of us heading into operational theatres, Brize Norton is more than a runway — it’s the final point of UK soil before stepping into harm’s way. It represents the weight of the mission ahead and the strength of the nation behind you.

But Brize Norton is not just symbolic — it’s a strategic cornerstone. It houses some of the most advanced air mobility and refuelling capabilities in our arsenal. From this base, our forces deploy across the globe at a moment’s notice.

It is the backbone of British military readiness. To compromise it is to compromise Britain itself. Palestine Action claim to be “decommissioning” aircraft as some warped form of “intervention” in Gaza.

What they actually did was ride electric scooters through one of our most vital military installations, spray red paint into turbine engines with fire extinguishers, and damage the planes further with crowbars. They didn’t just break the law — they cracked the foundations of our national defence.

Let’s stop pretending this is protest. It’s not. It’s extremism. When you sabotage military equipment during active global conflicts, you are no longer exercising free speech — you are enabling our enemies.

Their actions were not symbolic; they were designed to paralyse and provoke. And in doing so, they’ve declared a kind of war on the very nation that gives them the freedom they now abuse.

The group’s record speaks for itself. They’ve already targeted over 50 British institutions and companies they claim are linked to Israel. They’ve openly praised illegal break-ins, assaulted police, and glorified criminal damage as noble resistance.

We must ask ourselves: how have we allowed this to go so far? Why were two deluded activists able to break into Britain’s largest airbase with ease? Why were they roaming freely with scooters and crowbars while causing millions in damage?

The security failure is astonishing, and every military base in the country should be reviewing its protocols immediately. This is not just about faulty fences. This is about a broader sickness that refuses to call treachery by its name.

The group claims to act in defence of Palestinians. But their actions serve only to destabilise our own society. They do not help Gazans by damaging RAF aircraft; they simply weaken Britain and embolden those who wish us harm.

No matter where you stand on the Middle East, no British citizen should support those who attack our armed forces from within.

This is a pivotal moment. We can either assert the rule of law with clarity and conviction, or we can continue to tiptoe around a group that has openly declared its contempt for Britain.

We, as a nation, must send an unmistakable message: you do not get to sabotage our military under the guise of protest and walk away free of consequences.

This is about more than just red paint and damaged engines. It’s about defending the very integrity of the United Kingdom. There is no room for appeasement when the enemy is already inside the gates.

Those who sabotage our armed forces are not protesters — they are enemies within, and they must be treated as such.
