A flight attendant has revealed the one question she is always asked by passengers, and her answer might surprise even the most seasoned travellers.

Airports are typically bustling hubs of activity, with tired passengers lugging around their suitcases or catching some sleep on uncomfortable plastic chairs as they wait for their delayed flights to be called.

It’s unlikely anyone has ever witnessed a deserted major airport, except perhaps during the height of the pandemic.

Despite flights operating every day of the year, an easyJet cabin crew member has disclosed a surprising detail about her work schedule during the winter months.

Even though many people choose to travel in the winter, whether for business, visiting family, seeking some much-needed sunshine, or embarking on a ski trip, she reveals that her days are particularly quiet during this season.

Kayleigh Weaver, who works for the popular airline, says the one question she is constantly asked is what her typical day looks like.

She took to TikTok, where she documents her airborne adventures to her nearly 13k followers, to explain how different winter is from summer.

“I haven’t actually flown in over a week,” she confessed, donning her uniform complete with the striking black, grey and orange neck tie. Kayleigh then delved into the typical routine of a flight attendant during the chillier seasons, reports The Mirror.

She said: “I’ll be honest, in the winter it looks a lot like this: lots of standbys, lots of waiting around, lots of short flights, one of which I’m operating today.

“We don’t really tend to get called that much in the winter, unless it’s around Christmas because the back end of my December looks absolutely crazy.”

However, the rest of the year is far from leisurely for the crew, she said: “My summer schedule does make up for that, though, because some days we’re doing like five flights in a row, and it can be absolutely crazy.”

During those moments when she’s on standby, awaiting confirmation of flights, Kayleigh emphasised the importance of taking time to, “rest yourself and your body”.

In addition to unwinding after the frenetic summer holiday period, she utilises this time to focus on her own interests and pursuits: “Personally I don’t really mind the standby time because I use the time to edit content and do the hobbies that I really love to do that I don’t tend to get to do in the summer because I’m so busy at work.

“Being a flight attendant is super diverse and all of our schedules look so different month to month.”
