A 15-year-old girl accused of murdering five of her relatives with the help of her boyfriend told him she “loved blood” and was willing to lose her “whole family” for him in a series of disturbing messages read out in court.
The teen — who has not been identified because she is charged as a juvenile — and her 16-year-old boyfriend, Ja’ymier Davis, both face murder charges in relation to the shooting deaths of five relatives in a series of attacks across East St. Louis, Illinois, discovered on Sunday.
Chilling Instagram exchanges read out in court Wednesday allegedly show how the pair coldly plotted the killings, which were allegedly sparked over a petty dispute about the girl’s education.
“Well, your auntie is going to be easy. We can have her at gunpoint and stab her [expletive],” Davis said to his girlfriend in one of the messages, as reported by FOX 2 St. Louis.
“I can do that. I love blood,” his girlfriend allegedly responded, before sending an even darker follow-up message.
“Babe, I’m finna lose my whole family for you,” she allegedly added.
The victims have been named as the girl’s grandmother, Patricia May, 74; her cousin, Devin May, 24; her aunt, Cherie May, 49; and her step-siblings Quentin Thompson, 21, and Shania Thompson, 25.
Cherie was killed several days earlier and her body was found on Sunday, the same day as the other killings in three different East St. Louis locations.
The girl is accused of luring her grandmother inside where Davis was hiding in a closet, before he shot her in the head, the judge heard on Wednesday.
Davis is also accused of cutting off the grandmother’s thumb and using it to unlock her iPhone, the judge was told.
The targeted mass shooting reportedly sprung from a dispute over the family’s decision to take the 15-year-old out of school and homeschool her to prevent her getting into trouble.
Early last week, she allegedly stole her aunt’s gun, which was used for the massacre.
Two other relatives were shot and seriously wounded, but are expected to survive.
Davis, who is being prosecuted as an adult in St. Clair County criminal court, faces 12 criminal charges.
They include five counts of first-degree murder, dismemberment, aggravated battery and vehicular hijacking.
His girlfriend is currently charged with first-degree murder in juvenile court.
Prosecutors are actively seeking to transfer her case so she too can be tried as an adult.
