Furniture giant IKEA announced a new store opening in Culver City — a first for the retailer in the heart of Los Angeles.
The 38,050-square-foot outlet will be located in the Helms Design District, marking California’s 11th IKEA store and fourth in the Los Angeles area.
The new SoCal location will differ from IKEA’s traditional warehouse-style stores due to its “city-center” format. Customers can still buy products on-site and eat the retailer’s famous Swedish meatballs in the cafe.
The store will also debut the “Swedish Bite,” a new food concept featuring snacks, sandwiches, drinks, and other favorites from the Swedish Market, KTLA reported.

Customers will be able to view nearly 4,000 products at the store and purchase around 3,000, including 600-plus pieces of small furniture.
The new store, located 3225 A Helms Avenue, is set to open in the spring.

The Los Angeles area has three IKEA locations in Burbank, Carson and Covina, but the Culver City store will be the first located in prime Los Angeles. Several Plan & Order locations will open in California this year as well.
The Culver City outlet joins a host of other IKEA stores opening around the country.
They are located in Tulsa, Okla.; Gurnee Mills, Illinois; Fort Collins, Colo.; Huntsville, Ala.; University Park, Texas; Phoenix, Ariz.; Rockwall, Texas; Chantilly, Virginia; and Webster, Texas.
IKEA is hoping to continue the momentum from $5.3 billion in total sales it generated in 2025.
