There’s nothing better than a refreshing iced coffee during the summer, but buying one out can prove to be rather expensive. However, it can be hard to make a tasty one at home, especially if you don’t have an espresso machine.
Luckily, there are ways you can easily make a tasty iced latte with instant grounds. In fact, there’s one method which can help to keep your coffee stronger for longer and taste much better.
It all comes down to the ice cubes and involves ditching normal ice in favour of coffee ice cubes.
Coffee ice cubes enhance iced coffee, preventing dilution, intensifying flavour, and creating a smoother taste.
They also offer a great way to use leftover coffee, reducing waste.
Taking to TikTok to share how to make coffee ice cubes, user @yescoffeenodecaf said the first step is to brew the coffee.
Once ready, simply pour it into your chosen ice cube tray once the beverage has cooled down.
It’ll take overnight for the coffee ice cubes to become frozen and when you’re ready to make your drink, simply put the cubes into a glass and pour over your chosen milk on top.
Then, the TikToker recommends pouring over another shot of espresso to help the ice cubes melt slightly.
Now is also the time to add any flavourings of choice, whether that’s maple syrup, sugar, caramel or vanilla.
What’s more, the coffee cubes don’t have to just be used for iced coffee, they can also be added to a cocktail, mocktail or even a milkshake.
Many TikTok users loved the idea with @usernantz347 saying this was a “genuis” idea, whilst @m.billy_786 said it was “very aesthetic”.
