With a plethora of Yuletide events to choose from, it can be a challenge deciding which ones to mark on your calendar.
However, if you’re in search of an budget-friendly day out that includes meeting Santa, indulging in festive merriment and creating unforgettable memories, I wholeheartedly recommend Chessington World of Adventures’ Winter Tail event.
I had the pleasure of attending the theme park’s Christmas extravaganza over the weekend with my 2-year-old toddler and was utterly enchanted by the magical atmosphere.
Our first port of call for the day was a rendezvous with the jolly man himself Santa Claus. Guided by Father Christmas’ Elves through a breathtaking winter wonderland of snow-kissed trees, we were eventually ushered into Santa’s Grotto, where he sat by a warm wood fire.
My toddler was a bit shy and didn’t fancy posing for a photo with Father Christmas, but he did manage to request some apples for his Christmas gift, which should ease Santa’s expenses,.
Next, we embarked on a journey to the Enchanted Hollow, where we observed the Elves busily crafting toys in their Workshop. We even received a present ourselves.
We then descended to the Christmas Village, home to a festive Silent Disco, Father Christmas’ reindeers, and carol singers for a sing-along and dance. There’s also a Christmas Panto for everyone’s amusement and a Cocomelon Christmas sing-a-long.
In addition to the festive offerings, Chessington’s regular rides and attractions are all available for children’s entertainment, including its World of Jumanji ride and The Gruffalo River Ride Adventure.
Visitors can also explore the Sea Life centre and greet the penguins and monkeys at Chessington Zoo.
