'I met the love of my life on a family vacation, now I am moving 600 miles to be with him'

A woman who met the “love of her life” on a family holiday is moving 600 miles away to live with her boyfriend.

In June 2023, Jordin Beger, 25, and Cole Hodgins, 27, were holidaying separately at Orange Beach, Alabama, US, they bumped into each other and fell in love “instantly”.

Jordin was sunbathing on the beach and said to her mum, Lori, 51: “There is a cowboy walking towards us and I think I’m in love”.

As Dylan was talking to Cole, his dad walked up to me and said ‘I just want to let you know, my son thinks you’re beautiful’.

Jordin, an emergency nurse, from Kentucky, said: “I was so nervous when Cole and his dad came up to me and they asked me If I wanted to play volleyball.

“We ended up playing volleyball for three whole hours together and it was magical.

“I knew that there was an immediate connection there but when I watched him with my nephews was so amazing.”

As the day came to a close, Jordin’s brother, Dylan, 31, went up to Cole, a military Police Officer, and asked him if he had a girlfriend.

The two families then had a game of volleyball. After the game, Cole asked Jordin for her number and the pair started messaging.

Cole added: “We were about to go eat for my mum’s birthday and I asked her for her number, messaged her asking if she wanted to come.”

After the holiday, Jordin was “devastated” and “in tears” to be leaving Cole as they lived seven hours away but they continued to message back and forth.

Cole said: “I was so sad, I was asking myself why she has to leave on this day.”

On the July 3, 2023, Cole asked Jordan to be his girlfriend during a Tik Tok live in Jordin’s kitchen.

While dating the happy couple try to see as much as possible and have met up 30 times – despite the 600 mile distance between them.

Jordin said they have made long-distance work by “Face Timing every single day”.

Jordin said: “We never miss a goodnight call and we have not gone a day without messaging each other.

“We did Thanksgiving and Christmas so Cole came to mine for Thanksgiving and Christmas was crazy for us.

“Cole came up to Kentucky for Christmas Eve and then we drove through the night into the morning to spend Christmas day in Mississippi.

“It is even more difficult as each day you are falling in love with this person and you don’t want to not be a part of that.”

After doing long distance for a year, Jordin is moving to Mississippi In May to live with Cole. She added: “I’m so excited.

“I knew this man was going to change my life and I knew I’m going to marry him one day.”
