A huge car dealership is set to close by the end of the month. Management of the Jaguar Land Rover dealership in Slough, Berkshire, said it will close on August 31 as part of a restructuring of the company’s regional structure. Customers in the area will now have to travel to Reading for the nearest dealership, with other close options including Tonbridge, Mayfair, Tottenham and Milton Keynes.
Customers were told about the closure of the dealership via email this week. The company’s central client care team will handle vehicle finance, workshop bookings and servicing following the announcement of the Slough branch closure. “As a valued client of Stratstone Land Rover Slough, we are writing to inform you that as part of a strategic regional restructure, we have taken the decision to permanently close our Slough showroom on 31 August 2025,” the email to customers reads.
“I understand this closure may raise questions about vehicle finance workshop bookings and servicing so I’d like to assure you that Stratstone is committed to supporting you throughout your ownership experience, and I encourage you to contact our central care client team if we can help in any way.”
As well as selling new and used cars, the branch provided a number of services to its customers, including servicing, MOTs and tyre replacements.
Last month, it was announced last month that Jaguar Land Rover was set to cut hundreds of UK management jobs, with sales and profits pressure being reported due to US tariffs.
The company said at the time that it would launch a voluntary redundancy scheme, calling it a “normal business practice”.
