PS5 fans looking for a good deal on a brand new console might be in luck because Sony has just launched a summer sale. PlayStation Direct has cut the price of consoles across the board, including the PS5 Slim Digital Edition, which has seen a big £90 discount.
The price is currently £339, down from £429.99, which is a tasty £90 discount. That’s not all because Sony has also cut the price of the PS5 slim, which includes a disc drive, but only by£45, meaning gamers will pay £434.99.
It’s all part of PlayStation’s summer sale, which has seen a huge number of items cut in price. Shoppers can explore all the discounts, including console bundles and other gaming peripherals.
There are also tons of games which have seen their prices slashed during the summer sale, including Stellar Blade, Rise of the Ronin, and God of War. However, the sale prices all end on July 29th.
For shoppers looking for some alternatives and wanting to supercharge their gaming, there’s the PS5 Pro. Shoppers can get the console for £659.99 on Amazon thanks to a £40 price cut.
There’s also the newest Nintendo Switch 2 on Amazon with Mario Kart: World bundled in with the console for £429.99. Our gaming editor Liam Martin reviewed the original PS5 when it released, and he absolutely loved it.
He said: “Whether you’re playing the latest PlayStation exclusive, third-party bestseller, or indie hit …gaming on the PS5 is an absolute joy. Everything is buttery-smooth, the controller is responsive and immersive, and the dashboard is functional and stable.
“Rounding out the experience is support for streamers like Netflix, Disney Plus, Prime Video, as well as Blu-Ray playback with the optical drive and a sleek new remote control for those who will rely on this ninth-generation console for their next binge-watch.”
However, the downside to the PS5 Slim consoles is that they are showing their age. For the digital console, gamers will need to consider buying a disc drive as an extra if they want to play their physical games.
