So, how does it work? After letting the socks soak up the soapy, baking soda magic for a bit, Lynsey brought out a mini washboard for an old-fashioned scrub and those socks went back to dazzling white.

No washboard? No worries. Let your socks soak in the baking soda bath for 30 minutes and then chuck them in the machine on your usual cycle – the same brilliant result and less elbow grease.
