This afternoon, a rivalry will be renewed on the ice for the second time during these Winter Olympics.

It’s time for the gold medal game in the Olympics 2026 women’s hockey tournament, and for the seventh time in eight Olympics, it’ll be between the United States and Canada. Both teams have been on the podium in every edition of the women’s hockey tournament, which has only been included in the past eight Winter Olympics.

Team USA has been dominant over the past two weeks, allowing just one goal total and scoring five or more in all six games. Caroline Harvey is currently the tournament’s scoring leader, with nine total points in six games (two goals, seven assists), while Hannah Bilka, Laila Edwards, Megan Keller, Abbey Murphy and Alex Carpenter all appear in the top 10 with six or more points each.

How to watch USA vs. Canada women’s hockey for free

If you don’t have cable, you’ll need a live TV streaming service to stream Olympic ice hockey for free.

DIRECTV is our favorite service for watching TV live for free — it has a five-day free trial and there are a ton of options for plans that include USA Network (and every other channel you’ll need for the Olympics), including genre packs that offer more flexibility at lower price points. USA Network is part of the MySports ($69.99/month) genre pack with 20+ channels.

You can also catch every minute of the Olympics with a subscription to Peacock, which starts at $10.99/month.
