Zuby Ejiofor’s streaky St. John’s closed the 2025-26 campaign with six consecutive wins to finish the season with a 28-6 record and a No. 5 seed in the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament.
Although pundits like The Post’s Adam Schein believe Rick Pitino’s club deserve a higher seed after dismantling UConn in the Big East Tournament Championship, they’ll have to make the best of their situation when they take on Trey Campbell’s No. 11 Northern Iowa Panthers in the first round today.
Like St. John’s, the Panthers are also firing on all cylinders, having won their last five games to close the year. Throw in the fact that the scrappy squad only allows 61 points a game — the best in the nation —and Ejiofor and co. will have their hands full.
