Chloe Kim is going for the three-peat.

Despite a shoulder injury in January 2026 that cast some doubt on her ability to compete in the Winter Olympics, Kim’s torn labrum wasn’t enough to keep her off USA snowboarding’s roster. Yesterday, she qualified in first place for today’s halfpipe competition.

Kim is the two-time defending champion in the snowboard halfpipe event at the Olympics in addition to holding multiple world and X-Games titles. She could become the first woman to win three figure skating gold medals at the Olympics by finishing on top of the leaderboard tonight.
