How to tie perfect Christmas bow tie using woman’s easy tutorial

Bows have been all over this year – from dresses to jumpers, phone cases, to keyrings. And, of course, they’re perfect for Christmas, so they’re here to stay for another month or so at least.

If you’re the sort of person who wishes they could make a bow from scratch, rather than paying a fortune for store-bought ones, then look no further, as one TikTok user shared a simple tutorial that you’ll love.

Chantel Mila said “it’s the season of the bow” and wanted to show you her “method step by step so you can try it at home” for yourself, before asking: “Will you try this lovelies?”

She claimed it was the “only bow tying tutorial you’re going to need” as she held up a perfect-looking gold bow to the camera.

You need to start with a piece of ribbon around 70cm long, and then “place around 10cm of the ribbon between your pinky and ring finger”.

Then, wrap it around your middle and first finger until you have three loops on your middle finger, and two loops on your first.

Chantel then instructed people to “loop the ribbon under the entire bow so far”, then showed what it “should” look like at this point – and it had started to resemble a bow.

“To secure it, just place the excess ribbon through the loop and tighten it,” she instructed.

Chantel continued: “Then just take it off your fingers and you have the cutest most perfect bows for your tree.”

Of course, these bows could also be used to adorn gifts if you have leftover ribbon, and they could even be made into hair clips if you were feeling really crafty at this time of year.

In the comments, someone praised: “This is the best bow tutorial I’ve seen. Thank you for explaining each step.”

Another wrote: “I am going to try this! So cute!”

Others asked for more specific tutorials, for example, one where a “ribbon has a right and wrong side”.

Someone claimed it didn’t work, penning: “I have velvet ribbon and it doesn’t turn out the same.”

Then one requested: “Needed this! But I want to add small and big ones!! Can you make one for bigger bows?”
