Peace lilies, with their striking white petals and lush tropical foliage, have won over many hearts as the go-to houseplant for a touch of elegance.

Famed for their low-maintenance character and simple care needs, peace lilies signal their thirst by drooping and perking up promptly after receiving water.

Yet coaxing these beauties to bloom can baffle many gardeners, leaving owners with a flowerless peace lily.

Thriving under the dappled light of forest canopies, peace lilies look for similarly bright but diffused light in home environments to flourish.

Gardening pro Krystal Duran conveyed that insufficient light is often the culprit when a peace lily fails to produce flowers.

In a TikTok video on her page @plantswithkrystal, Krystal divulged her insider tips for more abundant blooms.

She started the clip by saying: “You have a peace lily and are asking yourself this one question – where are the blooms? So let me show you what I do to get more blooms.”

Krystal advised: “If you have it in a place that maybe gets a little less light, you can always push it a little closer to the window.”

She shared some essential tips for peace lily enthusiasts, highlighting the importance of avoiding direct sunlight to prevent damage to the plant. She urged: “Now, you don’t want it to get too much light, or it’s going to burn the leaf.”

She further explained her own setup, saying: “This window actually gets some filtered sun, so I don’t get direct sunlight through this window, but I get just enough to give me some nice beautiful blooms.

“Consider moving yours to a different place and see if it likes it better there.”

It’s also crucial to consider the placement of peace lilies in relation to windows. While they should be near a window, placing them on a windowsill can expose them to extreme temperature fluctuations and potential cold damage due to condensation build-up in winter.

For optimal growth, position a peace lily in a warm room’s corner, not too far from a window, with temperatures ideally between 18C to 24C.

These plants also thrive in high-humidity environments, making bathrooms and kitchens perfect spots.

Pet owners take note as peace lilies are highly toxic to both cats and dogs when ingested, so it’s vital to keep these plants out of their reach.
