This trick could help you gain some much-needed extra time off from work in 2025 – just by picking certain days for your holidays!

A TikToker showed how you can make 29 days of annual leave into 64 days, but only if you are tactical.

But there’s a catch – this trick will only be effective if you work Monday to Friday.

Through using this method, you’ll be able to maximise how many consecutive days off you get by booking a relatively low number of holidays, TikToker @charlieonhistravels suggested.

Choosing your days tactically can mean that you’ll be able to go on more holidays or trips.

The TikTok stresses holidays should be planned around bank holidays or festive events such as Easter to get the most out of the upcoming calendar.

Over the Easter period in 2025, thanks to a combination of weekends and bank holidays, the TikToker suggests that people planning a holiday between April 13 and 27 would only spend eight days of annual leave but would actually have a 16-day stint off work.

In another example, the TikToker mentions New Year, saying that by just booking off January 2 and 3, people working on a Monday to Friday basis will end up with five consecutive days off work as there’s a bank holiday and a weekend on either side of these days.

In May and August, when the weather gets better and summer sets in, this is another key point to maximise the bank holidays.

Finally, the TikToker talks about Christmas 2025 and how to maximise annual leave around the festive season depending on how many days people have left.

While Christmas 2025 might seem a long way away, it’s a great idea to look at what you want to do with your year and what annual leave you’ll need to book for it.

By planning your annual leave early, you can be sure to make the most of the limited days you have available off work.

With these tips, you’ll be able to fit in everything you want to do next year, whether this be summer holidays, spending more weekends away in the UK or other events where you know you’ll need the day off.
