England is set for a perfect summer’s day next week when temperatures could reach a dreamy 27C. Weather maps predict the south of England will be the hottest on Sunday, September 7, but the whole of England will get a late burst of warmth before Autumn kicks in, with temperatures in the 20s predicted across the country.

Surrey, Gloucestershire, and the border between Norfolk and Lincolnshire are due to reach the hottest temperatures of 27C on Sunday, according to maps by WXCharts. Temperatures will largely stay around 26C in the south of England, although some parts of the coast will be slightly cooler.

Along the south coast in Devon, it could be slightly cooler, with temperatures forecast in the low 20s. Along the coast in Kent and Norfolk, it could sit between 20C and 22C.

The Midlands is also in for a pleasant Sunday, with temperatures ranging from 25C to 27C in Birmingham, Northamptonshire, and Leicestershire.

Further north it starts to drop slightly, although it will still be bright and warm, according to the weather maps, with temperatures reaching a pleasant 24C in Manchester, 19C in Newcastle, and 21C in Cumbria.

The Met Office long-range forecast predicts unsettled weather between August 30 and September 8, with some showers, heavier rain, and even thunderstorms due to low-pressure systems.

However, it added that some short-lived spells of drier weather are likely between systems. It concluded: “Temperatures will likely be close to average, but may rise above at times in any drier, sunnier spells.”
