England is set to welcome a heat blast in just days according to new weather maps. The maps generated by WXCharts have flashed crimson red indicating high temperatures of more than 30C. The hot weather, currently forecasted for August 14, comes as the nation has already experienced three heatwaves this year, though after a break from the scorching conditions, it appears it is ready to make a return.
The south of England will see temperatures hit as high as 32C, while further up north conditions will remain balmy, with temperatures ranging in the mid-20s. Several counties will experience the hottest end of temperatures including, Greater London, Surrey and West Sussex. The Midlands will also welcome hot weather, at temperatures hit slightly lower than the 32C mark.
The Met Office predicts “hot and humid conditions” for England at the same time the maps forecast the 32C scorcher. However, the agency states that it is hard to determine how long Brits will experience the hot weather for this time around.
According to The Met Office’s long range forecast for August 11 to August 20, Brits could also see strong winds and rain before dry weather dominates the nation.
It states: “Low pressure will probably move northeast over the UK in a rather erratic manner at the start of this period, bringing some potentially heavy rain and a small chance of strong winds to northwestern areas.
“Ahead of this, hot and humid conditions are possible across parts of England in particular, though the longevity and extent of any hot weather are uncertain at the moment. Looking towards mid-August, and high pressure is more likely to dominate the weather across the UK.”
The maps show very little precipitation for the August 14. A few blue spots can be seen on a map for the dates, including one between London and Southampton.
However, the majority of Brits will be able to enjoy the hot weather without the interupption of any rainfall.
