Hot weather maps show exact date 30C ‘heatwave’ to blast 10 UK cities | Weather | News

The UK set to be blasted by a potential heatwave with the latest weather maps showing hot weather making a welcome return – two weeks after the Met Office issued rain and thunderstorm warnings. The high temperatures of 30C are likely to hit 10 cities on August 6 with the warm conditions continuing until August 8, the latest data from WXCharts has suggested.

WXCharts weather maps, prepared using MetDesk data, show that those living in London, Cardiff, Southampton, Luton, Worcester, Birmingham, Worcester, Norwich, Oxford, and Cambridge are likely to see the best of the warm weather conditions. However, a few cities, such as Coventry, Leicester, and Gloucester, could see the temperature levels soaring to 32C on August 7 for a few hours. According to the weather maps, the hot conditions will begin to hit the country towards the end of the first week of August. Areas around Cardiff and Southampton are among the first ones to be impacted by the balmy weather on August 6 (Wednesday).

By Thursday, August 7, the sweltering conditions will spread to other areas, such as London and Luton, and several parts of south-west England will also experience hot weather.

By midnight on Friday, the temperature levels will begin to settle down a bit, with the 30C weather limiting back to Birmingham, the maps have suggested.

Parts of Scotland will continue to see average temperatures with the mercury levels oscillating between 13-14C during the period.

The Met Office’s long-range forecast for August 6-20 suggest there are chances of “very hot weather” developing in the month.

It says: “A changeable westerly pattern will likely continue through into the start of August, with spells of rain or showers mixed in with some drier, brighter days.

“There are signs that high pressure to the southwest may try to extend its influence across the UK, which could bring more in the way of dry, settled weather as we head further into August.

“Temperatures will likely continue to be near or above average overall. There is a chance of some very warm or hot spells developing later in August if high pressure wins out for a decent stretch of time, especially in the south and east.”
