In a terrible bus crash in Mali, West Africa, at least 31 people have lost their lives after the vehicle veered off a bridge. The bus was en route from Kenieba to the nearby town of Burkina Faso when the incident happened yesterday.
It is reported that the bus fell off the road while crossing the Bagoe River around 5p.m.
No less than 10 more individuals have been left with injuries, some severe, while 31 others were declared dead at the scene after rescue efforts.
The total number of passengers on the bus at the time of the accident remains unknown.
Mali’s transport ministry issued a statement: “A bus that was leaving Kenieba commune for Burkina Faso tipped off a bridge. The likely cause is the driver losing control of the vehicle.”
