Honda recalls nearly 1.2M vehicles because of rear view camera issue

Honda is recalling nearly 1.2 million vehicles due to a visibility issue with the vehicle’s rear view camera, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported Friday.

In documents posted by U.S. safety regulator, Honda said the rear view camera image may not appear on the dashboard screen in certain models.

If that happens, regulators said, it can decrease driver visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

Honda reported the problem is due to “a faulty coaxial cable connector.”

The Honda Passport was named as TrueCar subsidiary ALG's 2020 Residual Value Award winner in the midsize utility second row seating category. This picture shows the 2019 version.
