To help home cooks expand their skills, one food content creator has shared a simple recipe for making the most delicious bread rolls. Breadmaking can be a daunting and lengthy process, but with the right instructions and a few simple ingredients, you can create your own homemade bread in no time at all.

Creator Let’s Eat UK has been sharing popular recipes for all the family, with one of their recent TikTok videos showing how bread rolls can be whipped up in no time using just four ingredients. They said: “This is how you make the easiest and most delicious homemade bread rolls.

“They are light and fluffy on the inside, beautifully crisp on the outside. And to make this recipe even better, it requires absolutely no kneading.”

The recipe has been watched over 1.7million times, receiving 37,800 likes and 467 comments. Home cooks praised the creator for their simple recipe, with one person saying: “Just made them, absolutely lovely. Easy to work out the calories as well.”

Bobby commented: “Omg these look just like the rolls from Scotland. I miss them so much. I’m going to make these.”

Tricky said, “My mum used to make rolls just like these,” while Jay wrote, “The clearest instructions for a bread recipe I have ever seen/heard, I’ll save this in favourites to make later. can’t beat home made bread products.”

So if you’re looking to step into the world of breadmaking with an easy-to-follow recipe, this is what you’ll need.

Homemade Bread Rolls

Ingredients

  • 440g bread flour or all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp instant or fast action yeast
  • 1 tsp sea salt or Kosher salt
  • 330ml very warm water

Method

Place the flour in a mixing bowl, whisking to remove any lumps. Then add the yeast and salt to the bowl, whisking again.

Pour in all of the water, using a handle of a wooden spoon to mix the water into the dry ingredients. A dough should begin to form a sticky consistency, but not too wet.

Cover the bowl with a tea towel and leave to proof for between one to two hours. The dough should double in size and have visible air holes on the surface.

Preheat the oven to 230℃/450℉. Liberally dust your work surface with flour, placing the dough on top.

Roughly shape the dough into a large ball, which will help to cut into even portions. Using a dough cutter – or a similar utensil – cut out six even dough balls.

Shape by pinching the corners of the dough and pulling them to the back. Place the first roll into the centre of a sheet of baking paper, placing the remaining five rolls around it.

Place the tea towel back onto the rolls and proof for a further 15 minutes. While the dough is doing its final proof, get an oven-proof pot with a lid and place into the preheated oven for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, remove the pot from the oven. Holding the edges of the baking paper, place carefully into the preheated pot.

Put the lid back onto the pot and place in the oven. Bake for 30 minutes with the lid on, then remove the lid and back for a final ten minutes until golden brown.
