The Home Office has revealed that 509 migrants arrived in the UK yesterday. The news comes after reports suggested at least ten overloaded boats were seen in the English Channel. 

Yesterday, the French-based organisation Utopia56 said that more than 500 migrants were trying to make the dangerous journey from Calais in the boasts.

Writing on X, it said: “At least ten overloaded boats are currently in danger in the English Channel. Since 2am, the Calais team has received ten distress calls at sea, involving over 500 people.

“Our thanks go to the volunteers and emergency services on site, who are doing their utmost.”
