A group of hikers exploring a UK beauty spot were left stunned when they stumbled upon a ‘mysterious’ size 16 footprint, which they believe could belong to Bigfoot. The large print was discovered along the Torquay coast path near Maidencombe in Devon on Saturday, March 2, leaving many wondering who or what it belongs to.
The discovery was made by a group from Rock Solid Coasteering in Torquay, who came across the puzzling sight during their adventure. They explained that despite the muddy path, these large footprints seemed to ’emerge’ from the nearby Watcombe woods.
One member of the group told DevonLive that the footprints appeared to come from the woods, followed the coast path for about 20 metres, and then veered back into the woodland. The group who found the prints admitted they were all “weirded out”.
While there’s no exact measurement for the photo, one of the discoverers said: “The prints were big. I’m a size 11 and they were half as big again. Clearly a bare foot, every print was perfect like the one in the photo.”
Back in 2006, sightings of a large woodland creature in the UK lasted for around six weeks. 15 witnesses eventually came forward claiming they saw a Bigfoot-like creature, reports Devon Live.
They reportedly described an ape-like being, around five foot tall, covered in brown hair and with a green face. These observers also noted that the creature didn’t have a tail.
On two occasions, the creature was seen swinging from tree branches, displaying “with tremendous agility”.
Back in 2022, there were some tales of a ‘Littlefoot’ creature spotted in Devon. Jon Downes, who heads North Devon’s Centre for Fortean Zoology, remarked: “I have many similar reports of such creatures being seen in Devonshire woodland. And this one is a real cracker because it has so much separate and credible corroboration to it”.
A few years earlier, in 2018, a man said that he spotted something very like Bigfoot in a field while on a train journey from Exeter to Bristol. He described a huge creature striding along the side of a hedge.
Whereas in North America, news of someone seeing a big furry beast isn’t unusual, experts wonder if there could really be something similar hiding out in Britain. Some researchers do insist there are Bigfoot-style creatures here in the UK, backed up by stories about a mysterious large animal roaming our forests.
