Heroes, zeros and the full blitz from the Giants’ 27-27 tie with the Commanders on Sunday:
Hero
The Giants scrapped their run-oriented game plan and turned to Jameis Winston, who was 33-for-54 passing for 326 yards and three touchdowns — including two in the fourth quarter — to lead a 14-point comeback.
Zero
Cam Skattebo fumbled as the Giants were positioning for a potential walk-off field goal attempt.
It was his fourth fumble (first lost) in five games this season.
Unsung Hero
Kayvon Thibodeaux took away Jayden Daniels’ intended target on the final play and forced Daniels to scramble, which led to him getting tackled instead of throwing an incompletion.
Time ran out before the Commanders could spike the ball and attempt a field goal.
Key Stat
230 straight games the Giants had lost since 1970 when trailing by 14-plus points in the final eight minutes of regulation.
They are now 0-230-1 in such situations.
Quote of the Day
“Happy it wasn’t a loss. Sad it wasn’t a win.”
— Giants coach John Harbaugh
