With Atlanta Falcons quarterbacks Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa both injured, it’s looking like third- string Cooper Rush will be starting against the Carolina Panthers this afternoon.
However, Rush, who experienced back spasms ahead of the Falcons’ Week 1 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, may be suffering an injury of his own. This would leave fourth-string rookie Jack Strand, who was signed as an undrafted free agent.
The Falcons are coming off a 20-13 loss against the Steelers, while the Panthers were defeated in a high-scoring 59-37 game against the Chicago Bears.
