A seven-day sizzling heatwave is on the horizon with temperatures forecast to hit a balmy 31C. UK weather maps have turned dark red indicating that large swathes of the country will once again bask in boiling conditions.

This means we could get another heatwave of the summer after weeks of rain and thunderstorms that have prompted a number of weather warnings. The arrival of the new week-long hot spell is expected to arrive in under a week’s time on Friday August 8. At 6pm the east of England and south East will see the mercury soar to a baking 31C.

London, Surrey, Hampshire, Berkshire, Dorset, Sussex and Dorset will all see the mercury climb to 30C.

Elsewhere, parts of the east Midlands and southwest the mercury will nearly reach 30C with 28C forecast.

As we fast forward to Monday August 11 the wall of heat appears to have only spread further across the country with dark red covering almost the entirety of England.

Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk are all predicted the highest temperatures with 30C predicted at 6pm.

Elsewhere, London, the east of England, the south east, north Wales alongside the east and west Midlands will all be covered by a 29C wall of heat.

Yorkshire and the Humber and the southwest will not be far behind with highs of 27C predicted, whilst south Wales will reach 26C.

The next day on Tuesday August 12 Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, Oxfordshire and Somerset will all record the highest temperatures with the counties all sitting under a wall of 30C heat.

For August 12 weather maps for almost the entirety of England and Wales turned dark red. Southern England, the midlands and south Wales will all see the mercury hover between 28C-29C.

Elsewhere, west Wales will see highs of 27C alongside Yorkshire and the Humber who could even see the mercury reach 28C.

Hot weather maps for midnight on August 14 show that alongside Wales the entirety of England until Yorkshire will be covered by a scorching red wall of heat.

It looks like Brits across the UK will face an umcomfortable night with temperatures forecast to remain a boiling 30C
