With the government confirming a 2 percent rise to the energy price cap scheduled for October – pushing average household energy bills to £1,755 annually from the present £1,720 – the expert provides practical remedies during a period when families encounter escalating financial strain.
Oliver Osmore, Managing Director at family-operated Maintracts Services, alerts that numerous London households are squandering hundreds of pounds each year through straightforward heating system problems that can be readily remedied.
The specialist warns that households bypassing yearly boiler maintenance frequently waste approximately £260 annually owing to reduced efficiency. Osmore clarifies this widespread neglect delivers a considerable blow to yearly expenses .
“From our experience, households that skip boiler servicing often see their boilers running up to 15% less efficiently. On today’s bills, that’s around £260 wasted every year – money that could easily be saved with a service costing less than half that,” he said.
Numerous property owners are unaware oblivious inadequate thermostat positioning also costs them considerable sums during winter periods.
The poorly placed thermostat generates inaccurate readings that influence the complete heating network.
